I have not written in a while, but it seemed like this was something good to write about. Story-telling is not one of my strengths, especially in writing. But, for those who care to read on, I hope you enjoy.
Lately, I have been reading this book called Tell To Win, and I’m not even close to finishing the book. The motivation to read this book was to help myself for the future. Title of the book says it all, it was in order to help me win in life. Interestingly, this book really helped me to realize how to win in life. I based the title of this blog on the chapter I have currently read. It was about grasping several things. For me, I thought about three things- what is the story in my life that motivates me and gives fuel my engine? what kind of stories do people tell about me? what are the stories that motivate and fuel others? Mainly, I thought about the story that runs my story; it was about what gets me going every morning and to helps me to try my best.
I have been struggling to find out where my life is going to head past few months. I wanted to be successful and surpass everyone’s expectations about me. However, I believe that it was not for the right reason. I wanted it to be, but it was not. There was nothing that drove me to be successful and rich except my selfish ambitions and desires. The recognition I would get from others and how no one would look down on me. This gas only got me so far; it was definitely weaker than the fuel I was running on previously. My grades were going down and I also began to feel the lack of push to become the best I can be.
As I began to notice these changes, I had a clue what the problem was but I rejected that idea. I thought it was because my walk with God has fallen. My ways seemed okay, I thought I was still doing this for God, but honestly, I wasn’t even sure. I hoped that it wasn’t and I didn’t want it to be true. But, as I look at my past and see the time in my life where I tried my best in life, it was when God was my fuel and my motivation. There are many other factors that contribute to my effort, but it is the story in my life where God revealed His love for me that drives me to do my best. He gave me my parents, my friends and Jesus. That’s all I have to know to see how much He loves me and get me do my best for His everlasting kingdom.
Yeah, this is just another typical story of God showing truth in someone’s (my) life. However, I wanted to not only share what God has shown me, but also find out what God has shown everyone of us. If you took your time to read this, I hope that we can take sometime one day to share the story that runs our story.
